Asta is an orphan boy who grew up in a church after his mom left him there when he was little. When he turns 15, he gets a special book called a Grimoire with a devil inside it that cancels out magic. He then becomes part of a group called the Black Bulls, which are a team of magic knights in the Clover Kingdom. Asta becomes a top-ranking member of the team and even gets to be a Royal Knight for a while.

Yuno is an orphan who grew up in a church in Hage after the fall of his family, the Grinberryalls, who used to rule the Spade Kingdom. He has a special book called a Grimoire with a four-leaf clover on it. Yuno is part of two groups, the Golden Dawn and the Royal Knights, where he uses his magic as a Magic Knight to protect the Clover Kingdom.

Yuno becomes the vice-captain of the Golden Dawn and later rises to become the youngest Grand Magic Knight ever. When William Vengeance steps down, Yuno takes over as the new captain of the Golden Dawn.

Yuno gains a powerful wind spirit named Sylph after finding her scroll in a dungeon. He also becomes the host for the spirit of Licht and Tetia’s son, who has been reincarnated.

Noelle Silva comes from a noble family called House Silva in the Clover Kingdom. She’s the second daughter of this important family. Despite her noble background, she’s also a member of the Black Bulls, a group of Magic Knights. Noelle is a 3rd-class Junior Magic Knight. Additionally, she’s been part of the Royal Knights squads.

Noelle’s magical abilities are enhanced by her contract with Undine, the water spirit. Undine initially served Princess Lolopechka but later chose to work with Noelle when her bond with the princess weakened temporarily. However, when Undine returns to Princess Lolopechka, Noelle makes a new contract with Leviathan, known as the “Sea God,” for Judgment Day.

Yami Sukehiro, originally named Sukehiro Yami, comes from the Yami Clan in Hino Country. When he was young, he left his homeland and ended up stranded in the Clover Kingdom. There, he became a member of the Grey Deer squad of the Magic Knights and eventually became the founding captain of the Black Bull squad.
